La Tour est belle - Paris
The traditional 14th of July firework display in Paris also marked the 120th anniversary of the Eiffel Tower in 2009. A privileged public of 700,000 viewed the 30 minute show – a spectacular of fireworks, images and sound – live from the prime position of the Champs de Mars. Artistic director, Christophe Berthonneau, asked ETC on-board to implement a giant image projection covering the entire south-west facade of the Eiffel Tower. A veritable technical challenge for ETC, the structure of the Tower had never before been projected onto, making “La Tour est Belle” an unprecedented event.

- Study and specification of two projection towers (14m in height) placed on either side of the Champs de Mars some 300m from the Eiffel Tower.
- Onlyview, ETC’s multimedia control platform, was used for the programming and reproduction of the show as well as for synchronising the images to the custom soundtrack.
